Under the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024 (the Rule), the Director of Land Transport has the delegation to certify speed management plans and approve alternative method proposals.

Please note that some of the published interim speed management plans were developed under the 2017 Rule, or across two different frameworks. Therefore, while these plans have been certified, the content requirements were not the same as those required for full speed management plans under the 2022 Rule.
