Active Modes Infrastructure Group

The Active Modes Infrastructure Group (AMIG) is a working group that provides guidance and direction for the development of national guidelines for active mode infrastructure design and provides sector feedback on changes to legislative changes affecting active mode infrastructure. The Group consists of representatives from local authorities and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

The objectives of AMIG, as set in its Terms of Reference, are to:

  • Identify best practice and make this available to practitioners
  • develop and promote sector agreement
  • develop or steer development of guideline documents
  • promote consistent implementation of best practice regarding network optimisation in the context of active modes.

AMIG currently meets online once every two months, with one in-person meeting each year.
