The proposed flyover will have a shared path on one side connecting with existing and potential future paths planned by Selwyn District Council. New pedestrian crossings on the flyover will link directly to bus stops.

When we talked to the community, a shorter more direct route was preferred by cyclists, instead of a skewed flyover landing further east along Jones Road and having to backtrack to businesses, sports clubs and workplaces on the west side of the industrial area.
Dunns Crossing Road
A new pedestrian and cycle subway/underpass under the state highway will be built as part of the two-lane roundabout at the intersection of State Highway 1, Dunns Crossing Road and Walkers Road.
