The Carbon Gauge Tool was developed in 2013 by Waka Kotahi together with Australian roading authorities. It was designed to assist projects to estimate and understand the carbon impact of project related activities.

Note: The emissions factors included in the carbon gauge tool are out of date. Waka Kotahi recommends the use of the Project Emissions Estimation Tool (PEET), which has been developed for New Zealand road and rail infrastructure.
