This specification (2012) and guidance notes outline the process for identifying sites where treatment to improve skid resistance may be justified and the process to be followed. In addition, previous versions of the T10 specification (1997, 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2010) and notes (1997, 1998, 1999 and 2002) are listed as historical references.
Note: Use is mandatory on state highways and may be appropriate for some sections of other road controlling authority roads.

By John Patrick, Joanna Towler, Peter Howe. Presented at the 2nd International Sprayed Sealing Conference – sustaining sprayed sealing practice, Melbourne, Australia 2010. An analysis of the age of chipseals when they are resealed on New Zealand state highways shows that, despite increasing traffic stress, there has been no significant reduction in chipseal life. This paper presents data on chipseal lives, compared with changes in traffic volumes, over a 15 year period. Trends, including the date of the introduction of the different initiatives are analysed.
