Test method for the determination of the dry density and water content relationship of aggregates

Published: | Category: Construction , Surfacing , Specifications | Audiences: Civil engineering laboratories, Road controlling authorities, Roading contractors

The T28 laboratory test method is used to determine the maximum dry density and optimum water content for aggregates used in pavement construction. The test procedure provides an essential criterion for the management of quality for granular pavement construction, i.e. the maximum dry density.

The areas covered by the method include:

  • Materials and apparatus required
  • Testing procedure
  • Reporting requirements

T28 is a new specification.
