This study was commissioned to fill a knowledge gap as there is currently no methodology to assess interdependent and interrelated projects/programmes. The study identified and developed a framework and methodology for assessing interrelated and interdependent projects/programmes. The researchers illustrated and tested the method on a cycleway programme in Christchurch. They then refined it and now recommend it for use in New Zealand transport CBAs. The findings of the study will be assessed and incorporated in the Monetised Cost and Benefits Manual as appropriate.
