The 2017 New Zealand Guide to pavement evaluation and treatment design provides guidance for investigating, testing, designing and constructing pavement rehabilitation treatments in New Zealand.
The 2017 New Zealand Guide to pavement evaluation and treatment design provides guidance for investigating, testing, designing and constructing pavement rehabilitation treatments in New Zealand.
This guide replaces the Rehabilitation design chapter, chapter 10, of the New Zealand supplement to the document, Pavement design – a guide to the structural design of road pavements (Austroads 1992) by Transit New Zealand (Transit 2000). The New Zealand Supplement to the document, Pavement design – a guide to the structural design of road pavements (Austroads 2004) by Transit (2007) did not contain any direct rehabilitation information.
This guide should be read in conjunction with the Guide to pavement technology part 5: pavement evaluation and treatment design (Austroads 2011) and specifically addresses pavement issues which are unique to New Zealand conditions. It contains guidance on how New Zealand research can be incorporated into pavement design methods and reemphasises the precedent strain design methodology. Designers should also reference the 2017 New Zealand Guide to pavement structural design.
