From Monday 15 to Friday 19 May, there will be utilities work happening along State Highway 1, Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata – Transmission Gully.
Temporary speed limits and traffic management will be in place for two of the lanes near Pouāwhā – the Wainui Saddle between 6am and 3.30pm. This is to ensure site safety.
This is an important project and is set to improve communications along this corridor, aiding motorway incident response and mobile coverage.
Work is weather dependent and will be ongoing until the end of June, with the possibility of additional lane closures at times.
