Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency says the builder of Transmission Gully CPB HEB is continuing to make good progress fixing construction defects and pavement issues required for the Transmission Gully motorway to open.

While many contractually required safety and quality assurance tests are close to completion, as at 18 February 2022, 57 final safety and quality assurance test submissions have been received from CPB HEB, of which 46 have now been accepted by the Independent Reviewer as meeting the required standards.

All three remaining consent tasks have been submitted to Greater Wellington Regional Council for certification or confirmation.

Waka Kotahi is continuing to work with the Public Private Partnership Contractor Wellington Gateway Partnership (WGP), and WGP’s subcontractors CPB HEB and Ventia, to reach a pragmatic solution that meets the legal requirements of the PPP contract to ensure the long term safety and reliability of the road and safeguards public liability, while also getting the road open to the public as soon as possible.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
