State Highway 58 is closing from 9pm Friday 30 June through to 5am Monday 3 July, in both directions between Transmission Gully and the Pāuatahanui roundabout.
This work is part of the Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata – Transmission Gully motorway project and will see the reconstruction of the pavement along this section of the highway ahead of final surfacing. Regular users of this route will see our construction subcontractor (CPB Contractors and HEB Construction joint venture) working in the area.
While this upcoming closure of SH58 may cause some disruption, local roads and other state highways will operate effectively over the weekend.
Closing the road means we can get a lot more work done in a shorter space of time – it's also much safer for our crews working on site.
Please factor additional travel time into your journeys and plan ahead using Journey Planner.

Please detour via the Waitangirua interchange, Te Ara Kapehu, Navigation Drive and Joseph Banks Drive, and other state highways. See map below for further information.
Work could be postponed at short notice dependent on various factors.
All updates will be communicated on the Waka Kotahi Facebook and Twitter accounts:
SH1, SH2, SH59, and the rest of SH58 should not be impacted by this upcoming closure.
There will be staffed road closure points at our work sites.
If you have any questions about this closure, please phone 0800 TGINFO (0800 844 636) or email info@tg.co.nz
Until Friday 30 June, there will be stop/go traffic management between Pāuatahanui and Transmission Gully for the final kerb and channel works.
Please note: A further two weeks of nightworks has been scheduled from Tuesday 4 July for final surfacing and to finish line marking in this area.
