Drivers and regular users of State Highway 1 and State Highway 59 between Porirua and Tawa need to be ready for a speed limit change.
The southbound variable speed limit where Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata – Transmission Gully and SH59 merge is increasing from 80 km/h to 100 km/h overnight, Monday 15 May.
The 80 km/h speed limit was an interim measure to help motorists get used to the new layout following the opening of Transmission Gully.
Waka Kotahi would like to remind drivers to merge like a zip and retain safe following distances on this merge.
No delays are expected. Works to happen between 7pm and 8pm.
