Variable message signs (VMS) are a strategically important and highly visible part of the management of state highways.
From time to time you might have seen these VMS signs used to display important messaging around potentially hazardous driving conditions (eg high winds or reduced visibility) as winter finally caught up in the region.
The VMS signs are key to ensuring the network operates safely and efficiently, and on Transmission Gully additional technology such as the weather station, visibility sensors and the radars provide additional capability and assistance for motorway operators and their management of the network.
