Community engagement is an important and ongoing part of the Ōtaki to north of Levin project. We regularly host information sessions, workshops, community meetings, and other events where people can have their say on the new highway.

From 9 September to 7 October 2024, NZTA sought public feedback on the proposal to toll Ōtaki to north of Levin.
NZTA thanks everyone who made submissions during the consultation process. Public consultation is a valued part of the process and the insights gained through submissions were considered in the decision-making process.
In December 2024 the Government announced its decision confirming the tolling proposal for the Ōtaki to north of Levin new highway.
