NCI has delivered safety upgrades to SH1 and SH18, the completion of the Western Ring Route, 10km of walking and cycling shared paths and a 5km extension of the Northern Busway, giving locals greater choice for how they travel around their community.
Well-planned transport investment delivers social, economic and environmental benefits. It helps communities thrive and safely connects people with jobs, schools, essential services and recreation.
We’ve completed the Western Ring Route to improve resilience for the movement of people and goods across the region, provided better access to public transport by extending the Northern Busway and supported walking and cycling with approximately 10km of shared paths to make it easy for people to get around.
Engaging closely with iwi, key stakeholders, affected property owners and the community during the life cycle of a project ensures that the infrastructure we’re building reflects the needs of the community as well as those travelling through the area.
