You may have seen some new machinery working right by the State Highway near the Ngā Ūranga (Ngauranga) end of Te Ara Tupua earlier this month!
This was our crane and drilling rig that was drilling 15-20 metres in preparation for four out of eight underground piles to be installed. These piles will provide a stable foundation for the bridge piers that will support the shared path bridge. The design and construction of this section of the project has been one of the more challenging features of this project due to going over the rail lines and being so close to the Wellington fault line.
