SH4 resilience

In October 2019 a large slip came down close to Raetihi, cutting off parts of SH4. We were quickly able to install a temporary replacement, reconnecting the community within two months. Since then we’ve been working with mana whenua and the community to develop a permanent road for this site, while continuing to improve resilience along SH4.
Minister Phil Twyford gives an update on SH4

Minister Phil Twyford visited Te Oreore south of Raetihi on State Highway 4 to see the slip site, temporary road and stabilisation work being done following the large slip that occurred in October 2019.
