We’ve now finished building the geosynthetic retaining wall where the road had slipped on SH23 near Raglan.
With the structural repairs complete, we’re one step closer to re-opening a more resilient permanent route through the area.
Wet weather can have an impact on the next steps, laying down new asphalt, road marking and installing roadside barriers, but we are still on track to finish at the end of this month.
We’re really grateful to Ngāti Māhanga who carried out a blessing on site alongside minister Nanaia Mahuta and Waikato Mayor Jacqui Church – before we begin final touches in preparation for the road re-alignment.
