This project will improve safety for road users on the stretch of State Highway 1 from Whangārei to Wellsford.
NZ Transport Agency has reviewed the Whangārei to Wellsford project to align with direction given under the Government Policy Statement on land transport (GPS) 2024 and the National Land Transport Plan (NLTP). Under this direction the Northland Corridor project is now the Government’s transport priority for this corridor.
