State Highway 2 was hit heavily when Cyclone Gabrielle ripped through the North Island.
The section between Napier and Wairoa was severely damaged, with more than 100 faults requiring major repair. Thanks to the immense efforts of our contractors the road has now reopened with traffic management in place. This drone visions shows just how much progress has been made to reopen the road, but also the amount of work still required to get this road back up to full standard.
