Qualifying activities are the like-for-like replacement of drainage facilities to maintain the desired level of service.
Work category 213 is available to the local road and state highway pothole prevention activity classes.

In this context ‘like for like’ means the modern equivalent of the drainage facility, not necessarily of the same material type or structural form, that meets current design standards.

You can discuss with us (NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) as investor) whether other potential activities not listed above might also be eligible for inclusion in this work category.
Work category 213 excludes:
To qualify for inclusion in this work category, the work must be the long-term, least-cost option that fulfils current design standards and hazard management requirements, calculated in terms of present value (PV).
The approved organisation and NZTA (for its own activities) must undertake PV cost appraisals of individual projects and make copies of the evaluations available as requested by us.
