If you want to know more about the Longswamp or Rangiriri sections of the Waikato Expressway a combined information day is planned for later this month.
The NZ Transport Agency along with its project partners is holding a public information day on Wednesday, January 29 at the Te Kauwhata Rugby Club from 2pm to 7pm.
The 5.9km Longswamp Section, expected to be completed in 2018, is currently under investigation. The information day will reintroduce the project to the community and seek feedback on options around local road connections.
The Transport Agency and its contractor on the nearby Rangiriri Section, Fletcher Construction, will also provide an update on progress for the Rangiriri Section. Construction began a year ago and project completion is planned for late 2016.
Transport Agency Project Services Manager Peter Simcock says the Transport Agency, their contractors and consultants on the two projects will be available to respond to questions.
“This is also a good opportunity for local residents, the wider community, users of SH1 and businesses to provide us with feedback on these two projects,’’ Peter said.
‘’With the opening of the Te Rapa section and most recently the Ngaruawahia section of the Waikato Expressway, and work well under way on the Rangiriri and Cambridge sections, people are really starting to see how the Expressway is coming together and this information day is a good way to bring local people up to date.’’
