Tairawhiti Roads is advising motorists to expect delays on State Highway 2 at Manutuke, between the Whakato Road and Karaua Road intersections, from 4-21 March.
“Work crews will be replacing sections of the road that need to be repaired. These sections will be dug out, rebuilt and resealed. New line marking will then take place,” Tairawhiti Roads General Manager Dave Hadfield says.
Traffic will be down to one lane with stop/go traffic management in place. There will be a 30km/hour speed limit through the site when staff are working, and a 50km/hour speed limit when the site is unattended.
“Please allow extra time for your journey as there will be delays, and please respect the speed limit through this site which is in place for the safety of road users and our work crews.
“March will be a very busy period for our contractors as they deliver the Tairawhiti Roads annual maintenance programme,” Mr Hadfield says.
