State Highway 1 Transmission Gully has reopened to all traffic between Paekākāriki and Pāuatahanui, following a truck fire on the route earlier Saturday morning (1 October).
The incident occurred near the Wainui Saddle around 8:30 am and saw the closure of the highway’s south-bound lanes.
The scene has now been cleared. The route was reopened to traffic at approximately 5.30 pm.
