Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises State Highway 30 is closed at SH30/34 and SH30/33 intersections due to a serious crash east of Curtis Road.
The detour route for motorists travelling from Rotorua to Edgecumbe is via SH33 to Paengaroa, then right onto State Highway 2 and continue south to State Highway 34 (turn left for Kawerau or SH30 east of the road cordon) before continuing onto State Highway 2 to Edgecumbe. Motorists travelling from Edgecumbe to Rotorua should use SH2 to SH33 Paengaroa and then SH33 south to Rotorua.
The road is expected to be closed for some time. Motorists should visit the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner(external link) website for up to date information.
