Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises chip sealing works will take place in multiple locations around the Rotorua and Ōpōtiki districts during the next week.
The following sites will operate under Stop/Go traffic management with a 30km/h temporary speed limit in place during the work, between the hours of 7am-6pm.

For a period of at least 24 hours after a site has been sealed, and before it is swept, it continues to operate under a reduced temporary speed limit while we allow vehicles to travel over the seal and help “bed in” the chip and to reduce the risk of chip damaging windscreens. Following this, the site is swept, excess chip is removed and the temporary speed limit remains in place until line marking has been reinstated (within 48 hours of the site being sealed, weather dependent).
It is important motorists adhere to the relevant temporary speed limits during these works to avoid damage to their vehicles and ensure their safety and that of other road users and road workers.

Road repair work will begin on Monday 12 April between Rata Ave and Tawa Street, for 3 weeks.
Work will take place between 7.00am and 6.00pm from Monday to Friday.
Stop/Go traffic control will be in place, with a 30km/h temporary speed limit.
One road reconstruction site remains live on SH30, with three other sites completed.
The site is between the SH30/SH1 intersection and Humphrey Road. This site is due for completion in mid-April.

These works are part of the Waka Kotahi spring/summer road maintenance programme, which will see repairs and resurfacing carried out on state highways across the Bay of Plenty.
