Waka Kotahi contractors will continue monitoring and maintaining resealing work on State Highway 6, Waller Street, through Murchison.
The stretch of road was resealed in November, but the new road surface has been bleeding during hot weather.
Investigations into the cause of the problem are ongoing, and when the results are known, a permanent fix will be done.
In the meantime, contractors will monitor and maintain the road when required to keep the problem under control and the road safe for traffic.
While this is being done, there may be loose chip on the road and a 30 km/h temporary speed limit.
Drivers should take care when driving through Murchison and observe posted speed limits.
