Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey on State Highway 1 in Northland as work gets underway to improve the road surface between the bridges at Waihopo.
The NZ Transport Agency will spend the next four weeks removing bumps and smoothing out the surface for vehicles entering and exiting the bridges, as well as upgrading the road surface between the bridges.
A single lane will be closed to traffic throughout the work which may cause some delays.
The Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience as we carry out this work to improve the safety and resilience of this section of the highway.
