Pokeno to Hampton Downs asphalt resurfacing works to start Sunday

|

Waka Kotahi advises asphalt resurfacing works will be carried out on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Pokeno from this Sunday 27 March to Tuesday 17 May.

The work will take place in sections, each night between 9pm and 5am.

Traffic will still be able to travel in both directions during the works but there will be reduced speed limits and traffic management in place.

There will be signposted detour routes for lane closures around Pokeno village and southbound between Island Block Road and Spring Road. Expect delays and plan ahead for your journey.

Work will be carried out on the below dates. There will be no work undertaken on Easter or ANZAC day public holidays:

Asphalt resurfacing requires removal of the top surface layer of the road so residents may experience an increase in noise levels. Waka Kotahi will try to restrict the most disruptive noise to the first few hours of the closures to minimise the impact on residents.

This work may be rescheduled due to weather or COVID-19 compliance requirements.
