State Highway 58 in Whitby has a westbound closure this morning, following a car crash earlier today.

Line crews have replaced the damaged power pole and the highway is now fully open to all traffic in both directions.

The crash, which occurred before 6 am this morning, saw a car collide with a power pole near the intersection of Seaview Road.
State Highway 58 is closed to westbound traffic between Postgate Drive and the Paremata roundabout while line crews replace the damaged power pole.
The highway remains open to eastbound traffic.
Local road detours are available, but drivers should expect delays in the area.
