The NZ Transport Agency says one lane is now open on State Highway 3, near the Mt Messenger Tunnel in Taranaki, but people should continue to expect delays.
The road closed late this afternoon following a large slip.
NZTA Transport System Manager, Ross I’Anson, says one lane is expected to remain open overnight while work to clear the slip continues.
He says there may be intermittent closures while debris is cleared so people can expect delays and should avoid the area if they can.
