The NZ Transport Agency is advising that State Highway 2 near Matawai will be down to one lane from Wednesday 9 October while contractors complete works to realign the approach to the new bridge.
From Wednesday, stop/go traffic management will be in place with a temporary speed restriction at the State Highway 2/Te Wera Road intersection.
Motorists should expect delays of up to five minutes for a six-week duration while works are completed.
These are the final works for the $6.5 million Motu Bridge replacement project. The project is funded by the Government’s Accelerated Regional Roading Programme, announced in January 2016.
