The NZ Transport Agency will be carrying out night works on SH11 through Paihia to complete the final stage of the road upgrade along the township’s waterfront.
The hotmix surfacing of Marsden Road is scheduled to take place on Sunday June 14, weather permitting, with a contingency the following night, Monday June 15.
The NZ Transport Agency’s Northland Journey Manager, Jacqui Hori-Hoult says a suitable weather window is needed to complete the surfacing.
The six week upgrade project has involved excavating and replacing the previous base and sub course.
“We have worked closely with local businesses to minimise the impact of our works. Please bear with us through this final sealing stage.”
“The road improvements are an important part in helping contribute to the overall rejuvenation of Paihia township and create a new waterfront promenade. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local community and businesses for all their support and patience.”
Please drive to the conditions and keep to the speed limit throughout this construction site so we can keep our workers and road users safe.
