Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- There will be night closures for Wellington’s State Highway tunnels on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. The closures will run from 9 pm to 4:30 am. The Terrace Tunnel will be closed Monday, Mt Victoria Tunnel on Tuesday, and the Arras Tunnel on Wednesday.
- Drivers can expect detours with the southbound offramp on State Highway 1 into Johnsonville closed for four weeks of night works starting this Sunday.
- A major rebuild of SH1 at the Raumati Straights is ongoing until early December
- Looking ahead, five nights of closures are planned for State Highway maintenance on State Highway 2 Masterton to Carterton from 17 November.
Top of the South Island
- Maintenance closures continue on State Highway 60 Tākaka Hill
- Four weeks of road works begin on State Highway 6 at Canvastown from Monday
- Coming up, there will be resurfacing work on Commercial Street in Tākaka, with 10 nights of closures planned from 17 to 28 November.
