Important information for drivers.
The Metservice has issued a Heavy Rain Watch for the Tasman ranges for tonight (Friday 1 November) from 6pm to early Saturday morning. This has the potential to affect State Highway 6 Murchison to Westport, and State Highway 60 in Tākaka. Drivers travelling in these areas are encouraged to check road and weather conditions before their journey, drive to the conditions and be prepared for weather-related road hazards – localised flooding, slips/rockfalls, and slippery roads.

A week of resurfacing works are planned for State Highway 2 Upper Hutt from next Wednesday.
A major rebuild of SH1 at the Raumati Straights begins this Sunday, and will continue until early December

Looking ahead, four weeks of road works are planned for State Highway 6 at Canvastown from 11 November.
People travelling on State Highway 65 between Springs Junction and Murchison can expect delays of up to 10 minutes at the Shenandoah Stream Bridge. Barrier repairs will be underway here - 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, from 4 November until 15 November.
