Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Regular monthly maintenance closures will be happening on the urban State Highway tunnels in the Wellington CBD next week. The Terrace Tunnel will be closed on Monday night, Mount Victoria Tunnel on Tuesday night, and the Arras Tunnel on Wednesday night. The closures will be between 9 pm and 5:30 am. Drivers travelling through the CBD will need to use alternative routes and should allow extra time for their journeys.
- Night works will see road closures on State Highway 58 between Pāuatahanui and the Paremata roundabout next week.
- Emergency works to repair an underslip on State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill begin this Monday (7 October).
Top of the South Island
- Regular maintenance work is planned for State Highway 1 Weld Pass with night closures scheduled for 20 – 23 October.
- Resurfacing work continues on State Highway 6 Gladstone Road in Richmond until 10 October.
- Resilience work is planned on State Highway 63 at The Wash Bridge from Monday (7 October).
- Road resurfacing work begins this Monday (7 October) on State Highway 6 at Wakefield. Nightworks will be underway during the week with stop/go traffic management in place.
