Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Lighting upgrade work and night closures resume from this Sunday for The Terrace Tunnel.
- State Highway 1, Glenside to Johnsonville will have a southbound closure Tuesday and Wednesday night for sign works.
- Night closures continue on State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill for maintenance work and changes to slow vehicle lanes on the route. Work on rockfall protection near the summit is also ongoing.
- Night works have been extended for safety barrier works on State Highway 2 near Petone
- In Wairarapa, repairs to the Tauwharenīkau Bridge on State Highway 53 are complete and the bridge will reopen to traffic on Saturday evening.
- Road rehabilitation works are also underway on State Highway 2 in Carterton. Ongoing bad weather means the southbound closure will remain in place on High St this weekend. However, the road remains open to northbound traffic.
- One more night of work is planned for State Highway 2/Chapel St in Masterton this Sunday.
Top of the South Island
- In Marlborough, initial works continue ahead of the constructions of a new roundabout near Blenheim airport on State Highway 6 Blenheim – Renwick. Urgent guard rail repairs are also planned for State Highway 1 Weld Pass on Wednesday.
- Overnight closures have been extended for safety barrier works on State Highway 60 Ruby Bay
- Work has been extended until 12 July to complete improvements to the Whakatu Coastal Pathway section of the Great Taste Cycle Trail in Nelson alongside State Highway 6, Whakatu Drive.
- Drivers heading through Motueka on State Highway 60/High Street can expect to see road closures from 16-27 June as the Tasman District Council carries out stormwater upgrades. Local road detours will be available. More information can be found on the Tasman District Council website.
