Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Regular tunnel maintenance work and night closures will be underway in Wellington next week. The Terrace Tunnel will be closed on Monday night, Mount Victoria on Tuesday night, and Arras Tunnel on Wednesday night - 9 pm to 5:30 am.
- There will also be two weeks of night closures for the Terrace Tunnel from 19-30 May for lighting upgrades.
- Drivers also need ready for night closures and maintenance on State Highway Remutaka Hill. Two weeks of night closures begin on 19 May. Dates for planned closures for the second half of the year have also been confirmed.
- Safety improvement works continue at two locations on State Highway 2 in the Hutt Valley.
- Regular uses of State Highway 1, Tawa to Grenada, need to be planning ahead for night closures beginning 20 May.
Top of the South Island
- There will be overnight closures of State Highway 60 from 19 May at the Ruby Bay Bypass for ongoing safety barrier works
- In Nelson, new pedestrian refuges are under construction on State Highway 6 .
- New dates have been confirmed for the Newton River Bridge repairs in the Upper Buller Gorge
