Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- The All Blacks play Argentina in Wellington on Saturday night. Drivers can expect increased traffic in and out of the city before and after the game.
- There will be a night closure on State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill this Sunday, 11 August for planned maintenance.
- There will be tunnel closures on State Highway 1 in Wellington next week for planned monthly maintenance. The Terrace Tunnel will be closed on Monday night, Mt Victoria Tunnel on Tuesday night, and the Arras Tunnel on Wednesday night. The closures will be in place 9 pm to 5:30 am.
- Work begins on Monday on a new shared pathway on the Ōtaki River Bridge on old State Highway 1. The bridge will be under stop/go traffic management and drivers can expect short delays.
Top of the South Island
- Drivers heading over State Highway 60 Tākaka Hill can expect delays at an underslip site near the Riwaka Valley Road intersection.
- Work continues until 16 August on State Highway 6 near Owen River while contractors carry out drainage work and replace culverts. Stop/go traffic management and temporary speed limits apply. Drivers can expect short delays.
