The New Zealand Transport Agency has begun a programme of structural bridge improvements across the Hawke’s Bay to boost safety and protect these valuable assets into the future.
The work, which started this week, will see structural improvements completed on seven bridges across the region over the next few months. The Transport Agency will keep traffic disruption to a minimum by working at night or on the weekend.
Most of the work will primarily be under bridges and often not visible, but motorists should follow the temporary speed limits and traffic management in place. Work sites that may affect motorists’ journeys are:
