Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling on State Highway 2 through the Karangahake Gorge on Friday morning 14 January to expect short delays.
Stop/Go traffic management will be in place between 5am and noon to allow for detailed road inspection and assessment ahead of future repairs.
There may be short period where traffic is stopped in both directions for up to five minutes, so extra time should be allowed for journeys through the gorge.
