The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays on State Highway 2, approximately 1 kilometre south of the Waipaoa Bridge, from Friday 11 October.
Work will be underway from this Friday to refresh the road surface and is expected to be completed on Friday 18 October, depending on weather.
During this time, the site will be under stop/go and stop/stop traffic management with a temporary speed restriction in place.
Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes and are advised to plan ahead.
These works are the first of the region’s state highway summer roadworks programme, which will see 139 kilometres of road surface across Tairawhiti either resealed or repaired.
