SuperGold and Community Connect are fare concessions funded by the government. These are known as “Crown” fare concessions and are available as follows.
If you have a SuperGold card you can travel free on most off-peak public transport services. The SuperGold card is a discount and concession card issued free to everyone 65 years and over, and anyone under 65 who receives New Zealand Superannuation or a veteran’s pension.

If you have a community services card, you can receive a 50% discount when you travel on most public transport services. To receive this discount you must register your travel card with the relevant public transport authority.
If you are a Total Mobility customer, Community Connect funding increases the standard fare discount from 50% to 75%.
Community Connect funding provided for free fares for 5-12 year-olds and half-price fares for 13-24 year-olds ends on 30 April 2024.
