We’re now operating safety cameras. This includes new safety cameras and some that were previously operated by NZ Police.
We're building some new fixed camera sites and continuing work to take over all cameras from police.
During the transfer period, NZTA and police will issue infringement notices from different safety cameras. When the transfer is complete, we’ll issue all notices from cameras. Police officers will continue to issue notices for the offences they detect.
We’re working on some new fixed safety camera sites.
Some of these sites are in construction, others have cameras but aren’t yet enforcing as we test new technology.
