One-way roads

Where a vertical deflection device is installed on a one-way road, hump ramp markings should be installed across the width of the carriageway on the approach side of the vertical deflection device. Lane line markings on one-way roads should be marked on the same basis as for lane lines described in this section of the manual.

Two-way roads with single lane or narrowing’s

Two-way roads may have sections of narrowing’s where the carriageway width is reduced, or to only allow flow in one direction at a time, such as give way and priority, kerb buildouts or chicanes. In these situations, where vehicles are likely to travel over the device in both directions, hump ramp markings should be used on both approach ramps.

The centre-line on approaches should be omitted.
