Bridge end marker posts (figure 6-9) should be installed on bridge end posts, road safety barriers, or other such width restrictions that come within the clear or trafficable approach width of the road.

With regards to the installation of Bridge end marker posts, refer to Figure 6‑10.
Bridge end marker posts should be positioned:
The top of the post should be a minimum of 1.0m above the road surface. The posts should be installed on one or both sides of the road as applicable and facing oncoming traffic. W20-5.1 Bridge end marker post – left side white and black must be used on the left-hand side of the road and W20-5.2 Bridge end marker post – right side yellow and black must be used on the right. The diagonal stripes on the posts should slope downward towards the road.
For situations where width constraints are associated with unprotected hazards (eg unprotected bridge abutments) higher levels of width delineation may be appropriate.
The installation of bridge end marker posts should be in accordance with the guidance in Section 7 of TCD Manual Part 1 including that they should be frangible when installed in clear zones.
