Objects immediately adjacent to the road can constitute a hazard to traffic. Those objects that cannot reasonably be removed or protected require consistent methods of treatment to highlight their presence.
Hazard, culvert, and width markers and other signs assist road users by providing them with adequate advance warning to allow proper precautions to be taken.
Devices approved for use to mark hazards on or near the road, including retroreflective markers, painted markings and traffic signs are included in this section.
