When a rail licence is granted, a safety assessor will set up an initial safety assessment. This generally happens within the first three months of operating.
Based on the results of that assessment (and other risk factors), the frequency of your organisation’s ordinary safety assessments will be scheduled.
When you have an assessment coming up, your safety assessor will be in contact to organise a date and time. They will also discuss the scope of the assessment (including key areas) and ask for documentation or information that can be provided ahead of time to assist their preparation.
