View the full data standard timeline

The AMDS RCA Data Standard Working Group was recently created to review and validate the standard each cycle with the first meeting taking place on 26 July. The group enables the programme to engage with the users of the standard, ensuring the standard is fit for purpose in council and RCA environments.

Many thanks to the following sector representatives: Auckland Transport, Transport Services, Waka Kotahi Data Management Team, Department of Conservation, RATA, Waikato District Alliance, Masterton District Council, Queenstown Lake District Council, Nelson City Council and Christchurch City Council.

We are continuing to work with transport sector SMEs from Waka Kotahi, Downer, Fulton Hogan, WSP and Higgins to accelerate the development of the standard.

Validating the standard – prototype activities

Along with working with the sector to test the standard, we have undertaken prototype activities to understand the type and level of support councils and the sector need to implement the standard.

Prototype work started with Marlborough Roads in March 2021, in collaboration with Fulton Hogan, HEB, WSP and Waka Kotahi. The number of prototype sites has expanded recently to include Wellington City Council and Masterton District Council, with Northland Transportation Alliance work starting late 2021. These activities cover a good mix of small to complex sites ensuring enough level of detail and impact is understood to move to the implementation phase with certainty.

The prototype work is being developed in partnership with Company-X, to analyse and validate the data, and with thinkproject to develop the solution as the incumbent AMS technology provider.

Training material to support the prototype at Marlborough Roads has been co-designed with input from HEB and Fulton Hogan and is ready to be used as part of the training rollout later in 2021.
