Introduction
The correct loading of heavy vehicles is vital in the prevention of injury to drivers and members of the public and the prevention of damage to materials and equipment.
The safety problem
Any load carried on a vehicle must be sufficiently restrained to prevent movement caused by the forces that arise from the vehicle passing over road undulations, when it changes direction or when it is being braked or accelerated.
Basic criteria and precautions
The basic concept of load restraint systems outlined in this code of practice is that they should prevent movement of the load under the following conditions
Load-securing equipment
What you select as a means of securing a load on a tray truck or trailer platform will depend to a large extent on the type and construction of the load to be carried.
